Children of War
A fictional story inspired by the experiences of children in Gaza.
AI-generated imagery and animation. Music: ‘Pool’ by Samia and ‘Let Down’ by Radiohead.
The story
A brother and sister living in a war-torn environment use imagination and storytelling to cope with fear and destruction. Through a handmade kite and a storybook, childhood innocence clashes with harsh reality. The kite becomes a symbol of resilience, freedom, and fragile hope — until the story itself closes.
Narrative structure
The trailer follows a three-act emotional arc:
- Act A: Childhood, safety, imagination.
- Act B: Rupture, destruction, resilience.
- Act C: Bittersweet realization and storybook closure.
The ending transitions from reality into imagination, revealing the story was preserved inside a child’s book.
How it was made
I used ChatGPT to help develop prompts for images generated in Nano Banana, then shared those images with ChatGPT to develop animation prompts for Veo 3. I assembled and edited the generated shots in Adobe Premiere Pro and added the music.
